SciVal is a ready-to-use solution that allows you to visualize your research performance, benchmark relative to peer institutions, develop strategic partnerships, identify and analyze new, emerging research trends, and create uniquely tailored reports. SciVal offers quick, easy access to the research performance of over 9,000 research institutions and 230 regions and countries worldwide.

SciVal consists of four modules:

  • Overview: Get a high-level overview of the research performance of your institution, other institutions, countries and groups of researchers.
  • Benchmarking: Compare and benchmark your institution to other institutions, researchers and groups of researchers using a variety of metrics.
  • Collaboration: Explore the collaboration network of both your institution and other institutions.
  • Trends: Look at the current scientific trends to determine a new research strategy, find collaboration opportunities and rising stars.

New to SciVal is Topic Prominence which allows you to run a complete portfolio analysis to see which Topics your institution is currently active in, and which Topics have high momentum, those therefore more likely to be well-funded. Topics help to provide insight into which researchers are active in those Topics, which Topics your peers and competitors are active in and the related Topics of which you should be aware.

SciVal will demonstrate some of the different use cases; talk about the data source being used; how often each is updated; discuss Topic Prominence and how it’s calculated. During the demo, they will walk through each of the four modules, show how to add researchers and groups of researchers and show how to create and export tailored reports
